prolog : I started with a simple idea.

If a mole on your face bothers you, just ‘remove it’
If the problem is rotten teeth, just ‘pull’ them out.
If the corns between your toes bother you, you can ‘remove’ them.

What if extra fat bothers you?
You can just ‘take it out’

‘LAMS’ began with this simple proposition.

In fact, the proposition of ‘removing’ fat is simple, but it is also the most complicated task. If correcting your body shape was as simple and easy as you think, no one would be dieting. However, in reality, there is no one who has not dieted at least once. In addition, as many as 60% of women answered “I always diet.” There are so many women who lose confidence in their bodies and suffer from repeated dieting and yo-yoing. So, is there a satisfactory and effective way to remove fat?

Same height and weight, but completely different body shapes?

Jinah Choi, a 23-year-old college student, has what is commonly referred to as ‘average weight.’ Friends who know her weight tell her to stop dieting because she hasn’t gained weight, but until now she has never once proudly shown off her body in front of people.

“I wouldn’t say I’m fat or obese, but I’ve always been dissatisfied with my body. “I’ve never been able to wear whatever I want because I have to hide my thighs and strong arms, which make it difficult to wear skinny jeans!”

On the other hand, her friend Young-eun Han, who is the same weight and height as Jin-ah, has a glamorous and slender body that can be seen at a glance. People around you are often surprised when you say that two people have the same body type. Jin-ah dismissed her body problem as simply being due to her natural frame or thick bones, and gradually became weaker.

Jina found the key to the problem in body fat percentage. As a result of measuring the body fat of the woman who does not exercise at all and likes sweet desserts, the result was close to 40%, far exceeding the body fat percentage of 18-30% for the average woman. On the other hand, my friend Young-eun’s body fat percentage was only 18%.

Recently, the standard for evaluating the body shape of women, who are called ‘body shapers’, is body fat percentage. In the past, women’s bodies were evaluated based on external criteria such as small waists, untouched leg lines, and sculpted abs, but recent trends are a little different. Park Ki-ryang, known as the baseball goddess, has a body fat percentage of 9%, Kim Joo-ri, a former Miss Korea gymnast, has a body fat percentage of 6.2%, and Lee Si-young, who built her beautiful body through boxing, has a body fat percentage of only 4.7%.

At one time, the term body fat percentage was close to a modifier to describe the body shape of muscular men such as athletes or bodybuilders. But why has body fat percentage recently become a standard for measuring the bodies of women who are considered to have the most beautiful bodies? This is because I learned that the body line is completely different depending on the body fat percentage.

What is body fat?

Body fat refers to fat stored in our body. Our body uses the energy source obtained from food where it is needed, stores the remaining energy as body fat, and uses it again when needed. The more energy sources are stored in the body, the higher the body fat percentage, which represents the proportion of fat in the body.

Body fat is not easy to lose and is often the biggest enemy of weight loss. For this reason, even though they do not appear fat on the outside, there are cases where they gain a lot of weight or their body does not look attractive.

Obesity, as we commonly refer to it, refers not to being overweight but to a body with ‘excess fat’. Everyone knows that when considering the same weight among the muscles and fat that make up the body, the volume of fat is slightly larger. Even if the weight is the same, the volume difference can be up to 20% if there is a lot of fat accumulated in the body. Therefore, even if you have the same body weight, if you have less fat and more muscle, you will look slimmer and more resilient, and if you have more fat than muscle, you will look obese.

So is it absolutely necessary to lose body fat? That’s not true either. Body fat acts as an insulator and prevents heat loss from the body. It also acts as a protective shield that protects the body and organs from external physical shock. Therefore, rather than reducing body fat unconditionally, it is better to reduce it to the minimum amount necessary for the body. The normal range of body fat percentage for adult men is 1325% and for adult women 1830%.

Therefore, everyone should know how to reduce body fat to an appropriate level.
